Saturday August 12, 2006 the NASCAR
Elite Division Southwest Series converges on the high banks of
famous Southern California’s Irwindale Speedway Irwindale, CA.
History was made in the late Ninety’s when Flying Bryan Germone set
the fastest lap ever recorded 17.36 at Irwindale by the NASCAR Elite
Division Southwest touring late model series.
History will make its mark in the record books
again Saturday night, the mark is the last scheduled championship
points battle at this speedway under the NASCAR banner and the last
victor will remain untouchable in the history books “We have been
very close, won many trophy dashes but not the big one, maybe this
is the one” said Elite division series #94 car owner Roger LaMoure.
On a positive note, its just a matter of time before a new breed of
late model racing will begin, the fact that there are more touring
cars across the country then any other series of racing provides for
a promising future for the touring late models.
Behind the scenes, the star spangle
banner and the roar of the engines may develop the story of the
weekend as two competitors continue to donate their hood space for a
cause. In July Racing for the Missing received a huge
break in case profiled on Pettit’s machine resulting in a safe
recovery. “The media played a significant part in the recovery of
Charles, we couldn’t have done it without their help. This weekend
we hope for another miracle” Said Jim Pettit II of
Prunedale CA. Jim, and his Top of the Hill
Racing for the Missing Ford will place a larger than life
image and contact information of Victoria Cotton of
Goleta, CA. on the hood of his racecar. Victoria, has
been Missing since July 15, 2006. Victoria has a medical condition
after a battle with Bacterial Meningitis many years ago which
concerns her family and friends. “She had gone to the next town
by MTD to go to the Farmers market. The driver recognized her as she
was a regular. He also recalls bringing her back and dropping her
off at a 7-11 not far from her home because she wanted to get a
local paper. “ That was the last that anyone saw her” said close
friend Steve Stighe. Victoria at fifty years of age has blonde hair
blue eyes and wears plastic framed glasses. Any information
concerning he whereabouts please contact the Santa Barbara County
Sheriffs Department at (805) 681-4151.
The second driver motivate by purpose is
Darrell LaMoure, co-founder of Racing for the Missing
which will place a larger than life image of Charles Alfonso
Daniels of Inglewood, CA on the hood of his Napa Auto

Great Job
Altamount Motorsports Park
Following the 1999
disappearance of 12-yr-old Mikelle Biggs out of Mesa, AZ
local NASCAR driver Darrell LaMoure, #94 with the
Southwest AutoZone Series decided to change the focus of
his pro- fession. Darrell teamed up with the National
Center for Missing Adults (NCMA), whose office is based
in Phoenix, to expand his career to include something
that would benefit victims families. Together Darrell
LaMoure and NCMA created the Racing for the Missing
Program.
This program disseminates
information about missing persons by profiling one
person on the hood of a NASCAR at each and every race.
Being the most widely watched spectator sport in the
United States, the success in profiling a missing person
was a just cause, considering the space on the hood was
donated, forfeiting any possibility of having a sponsor
that would undoubtedly bring extra funding for their
program.
Since the inception of the
Racing for the Missing Program, Darrell LaMoure has
expanded his pro- gram to include CA resident and driver
Jim Pettit II, #03 also from the Southwest AutoZone
Series. Jim is a front-runner in his division, being the
2004 Southwest Series Champion gaining additional media
exposure for the persons he also profiles on the hood of
his car at each race.
Following the July 2, 2006 race
in Altamont Speedway in Tracy, CA, Jim Pettit II
profiled the miss- ing person, Charles Joshua Debes,
missing since December 25, 2003. The event included the
at- tendance of twenty family members of the two missing
persons selected for both cars. The media was present
and profiled Debes’ information not locally, but
nationally as well.
After a witness reported
recognizing Debes from the media exposure, and Debes saw
the coverage himself, the case took a turn giving it a
wonderfully happy ending. On July 12, 2006 after being
re- ported to the police and missing for nearly three
years, Debes was located safe. Debes indicated had no
idea that his family had filed a report on him. He had
moved out of state to start a new life for himself and
after family members in California had moved, he had no
way to contact them. The situation left the family
fearing the worst and frantically searching for him.
Undoubtedly the success of the
Racing for the Missing Program reunited Charles Debes
with his family and made an additional success story for
the police, for the community, for the drivers, and for
the National Center for Missing Adults.
“The owner, General Manager and
entire staff at the Altamont Raceway Park went out of
their way to do everything they could to help the
families of both missing persons, “ reported Darrell
LaMoure, director of the program. “From the heart, my
family and I are very happy for the Debes’ and for all
the families with missing loved ones,” Darrell
continued. “This safe recovery provides hope that others
will return safely to their families."
Creating awareness of missing
persons is NCMA’s primary focus. Racing for the Missing
is one program that proves successful in generating
leads for these families and it helps make this agency’s
mission undoubtedly worthwhile. For more information

miss her laughter, love & beautiful friendship; the girls ask me
when will I ever find their mommy, wont you please give April back

The circumstances surrounding Missing person’s

responsible for over eleven-thousand missing adults alone as the
result of a natural disaster when there are tens of thousands more
missing from unknown causes. Sadly the numbers continue to grow.
Gloria Denton (April Pitzer mother) like
thousands of others are wondering what happened and what can they do

place has made an impact in the lives of the families they work with
and in the communities they work in. “We designed the program to

interact with missing persons families and law enforcement in hopes

Monica’s family won’t give up hope
Monica
Lynn Appleton, born May
21, 1970 in Pampa Texas. Last person known to have seen Monica was
her mother on October 13, 1999, at 17th and Hughes Street, Northwest
Amarillo, Texas, She is 5 ft. 5 inches tall, weighing about 120
pounds. She has blonde hair and her eyes are hazel. She was last
seen by her mother, appeared to be concerned about something but
wouldn’t go into detail with her mother. Her last comment was for
her mother to get out of the area. When her mother asked Monica what
was wrong Monica responded. I will tell you later, she never did and
is still missing.
Not every
story has a silver lining, Monica was allegedly involved in the
wrong circles and while she may have or not she is still missing and
Monica`s family wont give up hope, something went wrong and her
family wants to know what. Go to

“We can learn
so much through the misfortunes of others. I mean we have to care
more about our neighbors, stop looking the other way and get
involved and I am as guilty as all of us. Monica may or may not have

categories, championship points, most wins, most laps completed,
most top five finishes and most top ten finishes. “If we continue to
do what we have been doing we might win another race or two and the
title again this season. Pettit went on to say wining isn’t
everything it’s important but not as important as helping someone
you don’t know and may never know. Can you imagine not knowing where
your little sister, brother or wife is, we want to win for two
reasons and if we run out front then everyone has a chance”
Monica`s life

in the weekend’s action are Jim Pettit II, the current Southwest
Series point’s leader and teammate on the Racing for the Missing
(RFTM) effort.
Racing for the Missing (RFTM) is a division of
the Nation’s Missing Children Organization www.theyaremissed.org. RFTM founded a Personal Safety &
Awareness program in 1999 utilizing motorsports as their instrument
to reach the public. “The hood of a stock car is perfect, its size
allows for a larger then life vinyl likeness of a missing person and
there contact information to be displayed in a position everyone can
see,” said Darrell LaMoure Co-founder of RFTM with wife Shelley.
Jim Pettit II of Prunedale, Ca will drive the
Racing for the Missing #03 Ford and profile another
missing person in front of potentially the largest crown in series
history this Saturday. “Jim joined the effort at the beginning of
this season not having any primary sponsorship, and he felt he could
help us get the word out” said RFTM founder and driver Darrell
LaMoure. “We couldn’t have hand picked a better spokesman for the
program and the huge fact he is a front runner doesn’t hurt, anytime
we can reach the public with our Awareness information we have a
chance of saving a life!”
The King Soopers Freedom 150 starts at
10:30 a.m. Saturday July 23, 2005. RFTM would like to thank NASCAR
for their generous contribution to the program by extending
complimentary passes to the family of James Brain Rowe. His mother
Sue and others will be in attendance Saturday in hopes of generating
that one lead that will result in the safe return of her beloved
son, James.

Hills residence, Tim hasn’t been seen since.
Tim had recently earned his MBA from Cal
Lutheran and graduated with a BA from USC among his many
achievements were his sons Mark and Stephan who with their father
completed the process of Eagle scouting.
Tim a dedicated father his family
doesn’t believe he just walked away from his life. “ Tim is a great
man husband and father there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his
family, Tim had left his job due to health related issues and was a
little depressed but it wasn’t his nature togive up” Said Pamela
Perryman, Tim’s wife
Racing for the Missing (RFTM), a division
of the Nations Missing Children’s Organization continue to provide
Hope to families like the Perrymans. Timothy was an avid race fan
and once worked at the old Ontario Speedway back in the day. “We
hope that someone has seen Tim! And can help us find him, his family
believes he is still around somewhere and with the help of the huge
fan base in California and Tim’s image on Jim Pettits racecar in
Stockton this Saturday someone will have information leading to a
safe return.” Said Darrell LaMoure Co-Founder RFTM
LaMoure went on to say, Timothy is known
to hike the hills surrounding his residence near Thousand Oaks

July 16, 2005 Stockton 99 Speedway,

especially if there is only one grove to run in, if there is only
one then we will have to make another one I guess (laughing). The
plan is to do what we have all year, prepare the car for battle and
pray we come out clean. If all goes well then we have a chance of
putting Tim and our RFTM team in victory circle at the end of the
day” Jim Pettit II commented
California race fans have an opportunity
to help the Perryman family, go to Stockton enjoy the racing and
take a good look at Tim’s image on the Ford driven by Pettit.

Saturday night under the stars of a clear
southern California evening Jim Pettit II driver of the Racing for
the Missing (RFTM) Ford in the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division
Southwest Series claims the checkers in front of a packed Irwindale

The impact Jim has made on the series
speaks for its self with his seventh career victory, a championship
ring on his finger and the current series point lead. Not to mention
the sacrifice this team makes to support the Racing for the Missing
programs. Pettit and his team are not compensated monetarily for
their efforts in raising awareness for missing persons and their
families but choose to out of respect for its purpose and deepest
concern for our children.
Veronica Pettit, Jim’s wife brought
additional value to Saturday's event by designing a fan interaction
program calling it “Be our Shining Star.” Under this program, race fans received a
commemorative RFTM orange awareness bracelet and a "Shinig Star" they
autographed and placed on Jim’s car for a small donation to RFTM. “I
enjoy the fans and I believe they enjoy us." Mrs. Pettit went on
to say"anytime we can get involved in the community we do.”
Jim’s car really shined that night as his Ford

generate that one lead resulting in a safe return” said Shelley
LaMoure co-founder of the Racing for the Missing program. RFTM is

nationwide, RFTM`s mission is to increase the likelihood of a safe
return of a missing child or an “at risk” adult. We do this by
positioning photographs of missing persons and law enforcement
contact information on the most valued location on a racecar in
high-visibility motor sports venues. We provide support and
encourage family involvement with teams and media trackside
improving awareness and utilizing the team’s transporters as mobile
